Tuscan Lake View Home, Milwaukee, WI
Architecture & Interior Design
A combination of flag shaped stone veneer, rustic plaster and timber detailing work together to solidify this old world style that beckons one back to the hills of Northern Italy.
Design Objectives
Designed on a corner lot, this urban infill project in the Tuscan style focuses on and is organized around the lake view across a major road through the park beyond. The site design takes advantage of the 6 foot difference in height, corner to corner, by elevating the first floor and Terrace above the street level providing privacy from the public zone.
Distinctive Features
The entry sequence is layered providing a gentle transition from the public walk to the front door. A dry fit Lannon stone wall gives way to the ornamental flowering tree on center with the front porch arch beyond. The rusticated tower, capped with arched and square windows, marks the entry from the road.
