Kitchen Renovation – Transitional
This fresh new kitchen on the shores of Lake Michigan supports a love of lake living, a happy color palette and large family gatherings. What was originally an L-shaped design was reimagined to enhance function, integrate with the Family Room, and reflect back the brightness of the lake.
The interior design greatly enhances the vaulted ceiling and included new clerestory windows, cove lighting and decorative light fixtures. Further, the curving shape of the ceiling is repeated in the brackets at the bar, the shape of the hood and chair back detail. Modern touches blend seamlessly with vintage elements to create a sense of history for a client with eclectic sensibilities.
Of particular note are the accessories and styling of the space. Deep River’s design team made the new furniture and rug selections, designed the table top, and accessorized the glass niches at the cook top. These thoughtful details helped finish out the project to create a design as unique as the space itself.
