“Subterranean Magic” Feature in Sound & Vision

Posted On October 18, 2020

Deep River Partner’s Media Room design from our French Transitional Renovation was featured in “Sound & Vision”, the preeminent publication for audiophiles.

Following is an excerpt. The full article can be viewed here.

Basements are usually dank, dreary spaces reserved for storage but when the owners of a majestic home in the Milwaukee suburb River Hills hired Deep River Partners to bring a cleaner transitional aesthetic to the traditional décor, they decided to extend the design magic below grade and transform a boring space into a comfy media room. The idea was to create an inviting area where family and friends could gather to watch movies on a huge screen, play video games, or just hang out. And although they wanted a great Blu-ray-based movie system, they were not interested in building a dedicated “theater” space.

Deep River Partners Wins Bronze in National Design Competition

Posted On September 27, 2020

Deep River Partners was honored by “Qualified Remodeler” Magazine’s Master Design Awards. Our French Transitional remodel received a Bronze Award for its Primary Bathroom’s Home Spa.

Designer: Nicholas Blavat, AIA, and Natalie Erickson, ASID
Project location: River Hills, Wis.
Square footage: 302.5
Project cost: $75,000

Creating a new master en-suite began with the homeowner’s desire for more space and function from their closets and bathroom. Both areas were undersized relative to the scale and grandeur of this traditional French-inspired home. To accommodate all the desired amenities for a luxe home-spa experience, a larger floor plan was needed, which offered the opportunity for a new master bath addition. To achieve this, the existing bath and closets were renovated into a new, larger dressing area. The bath addition flowed from the new dressing area.

Tee’d Off At MS Golf Outing

Posted On July 14, 2020

Deep River Partner’s was proud to participate in the 5th Annual Tee’d Off At MS Golf Outing, a charity to raise funds for research into the cure for MS.

After seeing family members and friends battle MS for many years, Dave Blavat continues his personal mission to raise money for the MS Society so that some day other families will not have to endure the consequences of this slowly debilitating disease.

What is MS?

Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.

Small Home, Big Makeovers

Posted On July 14, 2020

Deep River Partner’s was invited by MKE Lifestyle magazine to contribute design inspiration for a tired Cape Cod inspired home.

“Small Home, Big Makeovers” [June/July 2020] is excerpted here:

“Now that summer is here, home improvements are underway. Realizing one structure can accommodate many design ideas, the editors presented a single small home image to local design, construction and remodeling professionals and asked for inspiration to see what sort of makeovers they might recommend.

“This home has some styling elements of a classic Cape Cod, including the gabled roof with a central entry into the home. Implementing some traditional details ofthe Cape Cod style could truly awaken this home into a neighborhood showstopper,” said Nicholas Blavat, AIA.”
